Regenerative Teas, and Homes with Michael Don Ham

Regeneration isn’t siloed into any one particular industry. For businesses, it’s about adopting practices which improve and transforms the systems in which it operates.

As an entrepreneur, Michael Don Ham sees now as a critical time for businesses to shift away from net zero and sustainable goals to that of net positive and regenerative. For himself personally, he deeply believes in land and people care as the root for health and wellness.

Michael brings together two worlds that we like to talk about frequently at Latitude—regenerative agriculture and biophilic and healthy homes. He is a co-owner of Wild Orchard Regenerative Teas, and the founder of the wellness property technology company RePure. With his tea company, he wants to make the highest quality tea available, grown on a regenerative farm and free of all the toxins that contaminate industrial produced teas. And with his new venture, RePure, he wants to provide an in-home "OS" that can monitor the air, water, and light health of our indoor spaces.

On episode 84 of The Regenerative Real Estate Podcast, Michael and show host Neal Collins discuss Michael’s upbringing with immigrant parents from South Korea and how he eventually found his way to starting the first company to offer regenerative organic certified teas.  They also discuss the importance of creating healthy indoor environments—where we spend 90% of our time—which is the focus of Michael's newest venture RePure. They talk about the risks of EMFs, the public's current level of understanding when it comes to healthy indoor environments, and the challenges of starting a business in an emerging industry.
