Green Homeowners United works throughout many parts of Wisconsin to help upgrade existing homes to be energy efficient and renewable. They offer energy assessments, construction services and connect people with fair green financing terms to assist in energy improvements.
Their main program is the "Green Mortgage", where homebuyers and those eligible to refinance can have the cost of improvements added to the mortgage at no extra interest or fee, with the utility bill savings more than paying for the additional mortgage payments, making them effectively no cost.
